In 2012 the radio station Lite 102.9 switched formats and became 1029 The Lake. The Lake’s name and format were taken from other similar stations across the country named The Lake, which already have an established identical logo. There was one week to complete a new logo and branding for the station, including station vehicles and tents.

Originally the tagline was “It’s All About Variety,” in 2013 it was changed to “We Play Anything.”

It was decided to do something different and unique from other stations of the same name and format. This is the logo all other “The Lake” stations use (this is from Cleveland, OH’s 1065 The Lake).
